Reminders

Hi everyone,

First I want to thank everyone who volunteers in the children's dept. here at Bethel.  I mentioned to the leaders who were in the elementary class on Sunday about how we so often forget about what we are doing.  We can often times get caught up in the motions of doing "ministry" and forget about the why.  I want to encourage all of you to remember the why!  What we are doing with every service and every lesson has eternal ramifications.  In every child we are allowing God to use us to help lay a foundation that will last for the rest of their lives.  Every kid, even the ones that get us very frustrated, needs us to allow God's love shine through us.

So I encourage all of you to really remember the why when you come into a classroom, and prepare your heart accordingly.

I few other reminders:

Please be in the classroom you are volunteering in 30min before service.  Whether you are volunteering in the preschool, nursery, or elementary class we need you there!  Some of the younger leaders in the elementary class has found out the hard way that we need this to happen by being replaced and told they can't volunteer that day when they try to come in at the start of service or even late!

These are mostly younger volunteers, but I ask that our older teens and adults to set the example.  We have so many new families coming to the church, and when it is 5 min before service and we are still missing a preschool teacher, or the person handling sign in in the elementary class is getting a bagel, it sends the message that we don't care.  We never want to send that message!

If you ever have any questions, concerns, or ideas about anything, don't hesitate to bring it to Kristin and myself!

Also, halloween lands on a Wednesday night this year.  The plan is that the children's dept. is taking over the church service that night to have a big family service.  It should be a lot of fun, much like the one we did last year.  So be on the look out for how you can be involved, and let us know if you do!

Thank you again for all you do, because you truly make a huge difference!

-Pastor Anthony.
